090426 - CWB & Central

On the second day, we headed to CWB. But before that, we had breakfast in Macau Restaurant. It is one of the famous 'char chan teng' in HK too ( if not mistaken >.< )
The menu contains most of the things that you can see in Kim Gary, slightly different a lil'.

Did I mention that they have set most of the time? Like, breakfast and lunch you have sets. Which is quite affordable and worth it la...cuz they give alot!

This is the combination of 2 sets minus the portuguese egg tart.. LOL
The set that I ordered, comes with macaroni and the pork chop & toast and it cost me about 23HKD...*0.472 to convert to MYR yourself. Haha!

Me & ma breakie!

After breakie, off we go to CWB. Alot of people told me that there's nothing much to buy in CWB as most of the shops are mid-range prices throughout.
Indeed it is...CWB does have heaps of small boutiques and clothing stores like the ones in Island Beverley. They do sell loads of nice dresses, tops, accesories but it is not cheap. And you can't really bargain there.
Did went to places like Sogo, Times Square too....been walking in CWB for half a day and believe me I didn't buy a thing!

......*well, except for 1 bag*...... =p

Took this pic when I was waiting for my drinks in Hui Lau Shan. =)

Taken from Harbour City...and the stuff there is not cheap :S
so must take pic of the bergaya place...wakkaakaka!

We did alot of walking in HK...I guess everywhere you go you'll see people walking! LOL
But it's nice to walk though...at least the weather there is not as humid as in M'sia so you won't feel sticky or sweaty all over when you get home at night.

After a long day, we wanted to try some dim sum in Luk Yu Tea House in Central. I guess we didn't check the timing. By the time we reach there all the dim sum are sold out! Haha!
And so we ended up eating in Tsui Wah, yet another char chan teng concept.

Met up with Jason in Tsui Wah and we head to Victoria Peak..woot! =)

Waiting for the tram to go up to the peak!

I look weird in this pic and my face sure looks big :S

Unfortunately, it has been raining for the whole day and by the time we got up there it was all misty...couldn't see a thing! =(
So we just hung out in Madame Tussauds, the house of wax.
Took quite a number of silly pics...lazy to post all so I'll just post a few.

checking out what is William Shakespeare composing...hoho!

fooling around with these artsy farty paintings with the 2 guys.

Yeah! E=MC2

SS around...check out Jason's 'yum' expression...kkakaa!

There's about 3 floors if I'm not mistaken. Didn't really took alot of photos inside there...the longer I see it, the longer I get bored of it... -__-'''

Yeah, so after that Jason brought us to Lan Kwai Fong for a stroll. He did warn that LKF is just a small squarish area. Just a few moments after saying that, the next thing I know I already walked around LKF. Hahaha!

Nah, a prove that I've been to LKF. =p

We're not much of a drinker so went back to CWB for dessert. If I'm not mistaken, Jason brought us to Honeymoon dessert.
Anyway, they have nice mango and durian desserts here. I don't fancy durians so I just tried the Mango Pomelo Sago..which is quite nice =))))

That's all for day 2...
The next day is to me, the most magical day ever throughout my whole HK trip...

Taaaa....

God bless! =)

090425 - Mongkok

Yeapz...I'm back from HK...so will update you guys on my trip.

This song kept playing on my mind as I was flying. LOL

Well, we arrived around 12 noon on the first day. After checking on immigrations and claimed our luggages, bought tickets for airport express to Kowloon and shuttle bus to Tsim Sha Tsui.

It was raining when we touched down Hong Kong. But thank God after checking in to hotel and settle down, the rain stopped. =)

Headed to one of the char chan teng (forgot the name) for lunch and off we go to Mongkok for shopping!

The place was packed with heaps of people...probably its a Saturday, that's why. I was drop dead exhausted on the first day as I did not sleep for the last 24 hours the day before.
Hence I didn't really have the mood to shop.
Like Alfred said, one minute I can be excited jumping around, the next minute you'll see me pulling my tired face and felt like dying.

I passed by a stall and see tons of people queuing up. Was wondering what is so nice about this stall....
As I walk nearer and nearer, I nearly fainted....it smelled like longkang!
They are actually queuing up to buy 'chao tau fu'! First time in my life I smell 'chao tau fu'...
EEEeeewWWwwww...... please don't tell me how nice it is if you happen to be a fan of 'chao tau fu'. I don't even want to know what does it taste like..hahaha!

After strolling around in Mongkok, we went to harbour view to catch the night view of Hong Kong Island. See the lights buzzing around? It is actually the symphony of lights where the lights will be shone according to the rythmn of music...something like that la.
We couldn't hear a sound as we were at the other end, but to me, the view itself is stunning enough alredy.

It was quite misty as it was still raining...couldn't get to see the full building =(

But I was able to catch the red-sailed junk boat! *wink wink*

@ Avenue of Stars

Didn't manage to take alot of pics as it was raining >.<>

Yummylicious!~

That's all about day 1.
Will update more about the rest of the days soon.

God bless!

Rule and Etiquette for bargaining in HK

I was checking out some websites on where to shop and I come across this site that tells us how to bargain in Hong Kong..haha...
I find rule #7 funny...

Rule #1: Start with a low price

The higher the price, the lower you should start. Most Hong Kongers kick off their bargaining somewhere between 30% and 40%. The best rule to follow here is that you really can’t start to low.

Rule #2: Know your product

If you’re just buying trinkets or souvenirs, this doesn’t really apply, but for those buying bigger ticket items, you should know how much the item costs. This is particularly important for electrical goods and photographic equipment.

Rule #3: Don’t believe the seller

Assume the seller is lying about everything.--->Haha! If you’re buying a piece of Jade priced at $5 and the seller says it’s real, use your common sense, it’s not. Hong Kong salespersons will spin you a web of tales to make you buy their product. That antique chessboard for just $10 - made yesterday in Shenzhen.

Rule #4: The walk away

If you and the seller have reached a deadlock and you’re still not happy with the price, it might be time to walk away. Tell the seller your final price and then slowly walk away, this gives the seller time to change his mind and call you back, which they often will. If the walk away doesn’t work, don’t return to the stall, as the seller is now firmly in the driving seat when it comes to dictating the price.

Rule #5: Don’t take tea

If the seller offers you tea, it’s generally not a good idea to accept. The seller is simply trying to give himself more time to wear you down. He wants you to think of him as your friend so you’ll find it more difficult to bargain effectively.

Rule #6: Pay in the local currency

Always use HK$!

Rule #7: Dress down

You don’t need to dress like you’ve been sleeping rough for the last week, but waltzing around with a Gucci bag, D&G sunglasses and a swanky digital camera are all signs to the seller that you have more money than sense. Dress plainly.--> Haha!

Rule #8; Don’t Try and Bargain in Malls

Major stores and chain stores don’t bargain and just like you wouldn’t try and get some money knocked off at Circuit City back home, you shouldn’t try here either. Look for 15% to 20% as a maximum.

Alfred came up with the itinerary 2 days ago....I must say, I'm very impressed!~ Haahaha!
It really excites me that I'm flying there in just another week!
But of course, ... I need to finish up all my work first... @.@

Investigation files to hand in by this week:

1) SG - DBS, SIA, EIM, ESM accts
- new services (TCM HW Scan vs Inventory)
2) MY - AFFIN BANK acct
3) ID - DOW, IGA, BRI accts
4) KR - outstanding Q4 & Q1 accts

Did I miss out anything?

I gotta go for full force to finish up all these things by this week...which I doubt I can.. T___T
Have not been sleeping well for the past 3 weeks...I even dream of work OMGGGGGGG
And pimples are popping out =(

Okies...enough of rubbish...gotta get back to work now...

I'm so excited......been anticipating for this trip since last year...
you know when you watch HK series you always hear those actors/actresses talk about the places but you never know where is where...haha!
I checked out the MTR system map that Jason sent me last night and work out the routes from there.
HK is actually divided into 4 parts; HK Island, Kowloon, New Territories & Outlying Island.
I'll be staying in Tsim Tsa Tsui, Kowloon area and I checked out a few places to go to last night;

Victoria Peak

Stanley Market

Ladies' Market

Causeway Bay

Not forgetting Disneyland!

Any other suggestions...anyone...?
Mannn....I gotta start remembering these names in canto terms... >.<
